Books, past — present and future

I was running through my goodreads list searching for a title I couldn’t recall and realized something interesting; in the past 3 years I’ve not awarded any book a five star rating. Why is this?

Do we tend to be more set in our tastes as we get older? Do we hold people/things to higher standards?

In my mind, I imagined a 17 year old me wearing a white dress and flowers in my hair prancing around sticking 5 stars on every random book I’ve read. hahahah … was I that free with my stars then?

  1. I think it gets harder when we keep reading more and more books. There’s so many more books to compare to what we are reading now, then when we picked up a book years ago. But the great thing is we learn exactly what we love and don’t! 🙂
